The Deputy Governor, State of Osun Mr Benedict Alabi has congratulated the outgoing members of the 6th State of Osun House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Najeem Folasayo Salam for the unprecedented achievements recorded by the outgoing 6th Assembly as the 7th Assembly will be inaugurated today by Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
The Osun Deputy Governor stated this in a congratulatory message as contained in a release issued by his Chief Press Secretary Mr Sunkanmi Ajiboye.
He rejoiced with the incoming members of 7th Assembly as they will be inaugurated today.
He commended the outgoing speaker Dr Najeem Salaam and members of the 6th Assembly for their passion, sacrifice and contributions towards the progress of the state in their own time.
Mr Alabi recalled the peaceful and harmonious relationship among the outgoing speaker and his colleagues in one hand and the Executive arm of Government on the other hand in co-piloting the affairs of the state which made it possible to record the success story of development in all ramifications as being witnessed in Osun today.
The Osun Deputy Governor advised the incoming members to toe the path of honour and legacy of good services that the Osun House of Assembly is known for by putting aside personal differences and see the development of Osun as a common interest which must remain the utmost priority of members.
Mr Alabi wished the outgoing Speaker Rt. Hon Dr Najeem Salaam and Members of the 6th Assembly success in their future endeavours and the incoming Members of the 7th Assembly a robust and successful tenure.
The Osun Deputy Governor said" today, a chapter will be closed and a new one will be opened in the history of Osun Parliament with the proclamation of the current 6th Assembly and the inauguration of the 7th Assembly by the Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola in line with the Constitution.
Mention needs be made of the passion, sacrifice and contributions of the outgoing honorable members of the 6th Assembly under the watch of the Speaker, Rt. Hon Najeem Salaam.
I want to commend you for the unprecedented successes recorded during your time and I implore the incoming members to toe the path of progress for the interest and benefit of all and sundary", Mr Alabi added.
