Osun Deputy Governor Hails Buhari on Osun ministerial nominee; Describes Ogbeni Aregbesola as Credible Option.





The State of Osun Deputy Governor, Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi has hailed the selection of the immediate past Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola as a ministerial nominee from Osun State by President Mohammadu Buhari.

Mr. Benedict Alabi also commended the President on the ministerial nominees, describing them as “Credible Individuals”, considering their personalities and pedigree.

Speaking on the choice of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Deputy Governor described him as an eminently qualified individual who has contributed immensely to the fortunes of the State of Osun and his political party, APC.

“We are happy and proud that such a pragmatic person with high pedigree is nominated from our dear State. Ogbeni broke barriers and his determination to succeed helped in taking the Sate of Osun to a level beyond our expectations. I can confidently say that such a highly cerebral nominee will contribute further to the fortunes of the country.”

Mr. Benedict Alabi said, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is well equipped with the necessary experience and skills that will prove invaluable as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Deputy Governor also extended warm felicitation to the other nominees from the South West in particular and other regions in general. He described them as accomplished and competent personages that have contributed immensely in various ways to their states, the party and the country.
He prayed for God Almighty to see them through to successful accomplishments in their various assignments.

Oyetola seeks support of people in taking Osun to a greater height

Governor State of Osun Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has sought the cooperation and support of the people of Osun irrespective of political differences  in his bid to take the state to a greater height.

Governor Oyetola sought the support on Sunday  at a special thanksgiving service held in honour  of Dr. Jacob Olusola Agboola on the successful completion of his tenure as rector of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.

The thanksgiving service which was held at Christ Apostolic Church, mountain of blessing, Oke Baale Osogbo had in attendance the secretary to the state government Prince Wole Oyebamiji.

Governor Oyetola who spoke through his deputy Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi said it is now time for the people of Osun to put their differences aside and rally round his administration to be able to deliver on the campaign promises made to them.

He explained that his administration is committed to making positive impact in the lives of the people and leave the state better than he met it.

He reminded the people on the need to abide by the commandment of God  to always support those in the position of authority for the betterment of the society.

In his words "let us support the government of Mr Gboyega Oyetola as God  has directed us to always support and pray for our leaders who God has chosen for us.

" We must cherish them, believe in them and support them. We should please, leave our differences and work together for a greater Osun.

"Present government is very committed to our well-being, togetherness, we can achieve great things", the Deputy Governor said.

Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has described his deputy, Mr. Benedict Alabi, as a worthy and dependable ally.

Oyetola stated this in a congratulatory letter to Alabi on his birthday. The deputy governor turned 54 on Friday.

Oyetola said:  “Kindly receive warm compliments from my family, the government and the good people of the State of Osun as you celebrate your 54th birthday.

“I join your family, friends, associates and well-wishers to felicitate with you on this occasion, coming immediately after the Supreme Court, the apex court in the country, reaffirmed our victory in the September 22 and 27, 2018 governorship election.

“You have proved to be a worthy ally who is reliable and dependable as we march on in the huge task of bringing development to our people.

“I wish to acknowledge the zeal, enthusiasm, commitment and determination that you have been exhibiting since we came on board on November 27, 2018.

“As you celebrate this birthday, I wish you God’s grace, good health, sound mind and long life while you continue to contribute your quota towards the improvement of lives of our people and the upliftment of our state.”

A special thanksgiving service organised by the  government state of Osun to mark the Supreme Court Judgement of Friday 5th of July 2019 which affirmed Mr Gboyega Oyetola  as the duely elected Governor
was held on Sunday at Holy Cross Catholic Church Ikire, the countryhome of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Gboyega Alabi.

The thanksgiving service had in attendance the Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola who was represented by his deputy Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi as well as speaker of the state house of Assembly Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye who led many state lawmakers and some other former members of the National and state  Assemblies to the special Thanksgiving service.

The high profile personalities in the state that attended the service included the Secretary to the State government Prince Wole Oyebamiji as well as local government council chairmen, party leaders, government officials and numerous party faithfuls.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola who spoke through his deputy while addressing the congregation described the Supreme Court victory of Friday 5th July as a manifestation of a special project started and completed by God.

According to him, " Our God is  a God of completion. The Supreme Court  victory affirmed the mandate freely given to us by the good people of Osun through their votes in the Osun governorship election of 22 and 27 of September 2018.

"Governor Gboyega Oyetola has the love of people at heart and his core objective is to make a meaningful and positive impact in the lives of the people of Osun, be rest assured that better days are ahead of  both workers and the entire people of Osun.

"The Supreme Court verdict which has laid to rest all the legal litigations over the election victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola will now propel him into action.  He will work harder for the progress and well-being of the people", Mr Alabi assured.

He explained further" I have always put my trust in God and I have never doubted the power of God which finally manifested".

He said what is required now is for the people to continue to give more support for the Oyetola's administration and to contribute their own quota with regularly payment of taxes and to be more productive in what each and everyone does.

Governor Oyetola whose joy knew no bounds while addressing the congregation said it is the will of God that came to pass in his life saying this shows that his administration is  God's project.

He stressed the need for all and sundary to embrace agriculture to ensure food security and for economic survival.

Governor Oyetola also enjoined the people of the state particularly the youths to take maximum advantage of the huge investment of government on technical education by equipping themselves with modern technical skills and knowledge at the newly refurbished nine technical colleges across the state

He said this would guarantee  self dependence and economic sustainability for the people of Osun.

Earlier in his sermon, the parish priest of Holy Cross Catholic Church Ikire, Reverend Father Jerome Ajakaye said manifestation of  promise of God shall always come to pass in the life of whoever that have trust and faith in God.

Quoting from the book of Judges chapter 3 and verse 5, the clergyman encouraged people to continue to put their trust in God saying nothing is impossible for him to do.

Reverend Father Ajakaye congratulated Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the Supreme Court victory and enjoined him not to disappoint the people of Osun but to work harder and fulfill his electioneering campaign promises.

He also called on Christians to always stand by the truth and be a true apostle of Christ through their behavior and character.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola has said his faith in Allah remained unshaken while he waited for the judgment by the Supreme Court.

The Governor stated this on Friday June 5, 2019, when the Apex Court gave its judgment affirming the election of Governor Oyetola.

The celebrant thanked the people of the state for their support always and their belief in APC as the party for the masses.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola assured the people that his good works continue as more dividends will come their way.

In March, the Election Petition Tribunal gave a split judgment giving victory to the People's Democratic Party.

However, the Appeal and Supreme Courts upturned the Tribunal ruling and affirmed Gboyega Oyetola as the duly elected Governor of the State of Osun

It was a wild jubilation at the Government House in the morning of Friday July 5, 2019, when the news filtered in that the Supreme Court had given victory to Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

The crowd of jubilants comprised the deputy governor, secretary to the state government, the chief of staff, the head of service, wife of the Governor and several other top government functionaries including former speaker Najim Salaam and his deputy Adegboye Akintunde.

They all burst into various songs, dancing and exchanging pleasantries and handshake.

The reaction was just spontaneous.

It's hope that the Supreme Court verdict will push aside distractions for the Governor to face the business of Governance squarely.
