The Deputy Governor, State of Osun, Benedict Alabi, has felicitated with Muslims around the world,  on the occasion of this year Eid-al-kabir.


He stressed  that the exemplary attributes  of  obedience and selflessness  displayed by Prophet Ibrahim should be a guiding principle of every Islamic faithful and people of other faiths. 


In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olaniyi Ajibola, Alabi added that the  festival remains significant in the Islamic world, as it instills the  conviction of total submission to the will of Almighty Allah in every Muslim.


He said, '' I rejoice with all Muslims around the world, and the state of Osun in particular on this occasion of high spiritual significance.


"While we celebrate with our loved ones with attendant merriment, it is pertinent for us to emulate the rare trait of  obedience and selflessness displayed by prophet Ibrahim.


"I believe our national challenges would be seamlessly surmounted if we selflessly contribute our quotas to the development and growth of our nation and submit to the will of our creator in the same vein the prophet did.


"Also, in the spirit of this season,  we must  be obedient  to medical advice and protocols of COVID-19 to insulate our communities against the danger of the Delta variant and the possibility of third wave of the deadly virus".

The  All Progressives Congress, APC, in Irewole  local government has concluded plan to  organize interdenominational prayer for the purpose of endergering peace in th axis and  to  endorse Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his deputy, Benedict Alabi for second term in office..


The party, under the pragmatic leadership of Alhaji Arimiyau Owoade and his Executive members  have  mandated all card carrying  members of APC in the Local Government to embark on the proposal fasting session  and prayer to ask God for forgiveness, peace and the success of the party.


This was contained in a  communique issued  after an emergency local exco meetings held on Friday,  to officially announce the untimely death of one of its members,  late Alowonle Oyedeji, who lost his life  on the line of duty during armed robbery attacks in Ikire and Apomu recently.


The fasting session  was slated between   Wednesday,  9th June,  and  Friday 11th June, where all  party members  will converge  at Kings  Square, Oja Ale, Ikire, with  Christian Association of Nigeria Irewole chapter as well as League of Imams and Alfas  for  interdenominational prayers.


The party, through the communique agreed to use opposite Akire Palace for the prayer and the party chairman urged all members to see it as a clarion call to pray for the nation, Osun and Ikire in particular. t

 Osun killings: Govt condemns act, orders immediate manhunt of assailants 


Government of the state of Osun on Sunday condemned in totality the killings of 6 family members at  Wasinmi,  in Irewole Local Government area of the state by unknown gunmen.

The state Deputy Governor, Mr Benedict Alabi,  who paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family  on Sunday morning described the killings as disheartening and unfortunate. 

Alabi,  who was received by scores of family members of the deceased  and some leaders in the community described the incident as a case of brutal assassination, adding that the perpetrators would be brought to book in no distant time.


He,  added that  the state government has  ordered the security agencies in the state to fish out the evil doers and bring them before the law.


The Osun Deputy Governor,  who was accompanied by the state Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security,  Mrs Abiodun Ige,  asked members of the community and the citizens of the state  at large to remain calm,  assuring that government would continue to provide adequate security across the state.


In his words, " This is a very unfortunate incident and we are so sad about it as a government. It is shocking and strange to our communities.


"We are here on behalf of the state government to sympathize with you and we are assuring you that those criminal elements  that perpetrated this evil act would not go scot-free, we have ordered security agencies to swing into action and fish them out to face the wrath of law".


He, however,  called on members of the community to assist security agents with useful information that could speed up the arrest of the killers.

The First female speaker of the Federal house of Representatives who is also the Iyalaje of Ikire kingdom Chief Mrs Patrician Olubunmi Fokuke Etteh has done it again, this time around beyond empowerment or employment but our Mama, the woman of all First is set to light up some strategic areas in the cityo ofDodo with solar street light . WOW kudos

It's not new to us in Ikire Chief Olubunmi Fokuke has been a good ambassador of Nigeria, Osun especially Irewole federal constituency, by taking development of people and her community a priority. 

You may be asking yourself in what benefits is she doing this?  but If may answer your curiosity it's a spirit of God and Progressivsm in her, remember Mama was the first woman to represent Irewole federal constituency between 1999-2012 and till date we've never bn disappointed by all the women who have represented us including her successors Hon Ayo Omidiran and the incumbent Hon Taiwo Oluga, obviously the qualities in Mama has reflected in others.

As election year is moving closer, the main assignment of a serious Political organization is to close ranks of her members in order to get a better result.


The Youth Wing of Irewole local government, Ikire under the leadership of Comrade Adegoke Akinwemimo, was on Thursday, 12th November, 2020 organized a symposium for some selected youth stakeholders within the local government.


The theme of the meeting is to aggregate the problems of the Party at the Council and to profer solutions to them in order to get a better result for 2022 governorship election in the area.


The parley was a successful deliberation platform for the Party members, who without fear or favour expressed their feelings, and registered their greviances from ward 1 to 11 which constitute Irewole local government and Local Council Development Area.


The big success of the symposium was recorded through quality leadership contributions of Irewole local government Chairman and his LCDA counterpart, Hon Aderemi Abass and Hon. Opeyemi Adeboye, who practically and theoretically gave adequate answers to all the issues raised and enjoyed members to continue to work together as a team so that dividends of democracy can spread across to everyone one by one.


In their separate remarks,  Hon. Remi Abas and Hon. Opeyemi Adeboye said, the future of APC is in the hands of youths and therefore, they must put their differences behind them and continue to work assiduously for the progress of the Party.


The Council Bosses also used the opportunity to xtrayed their good works and efforts to make the Party and Government attractive to the people and especially to the members of the Party.


After the deliberations, the Irewole Youths Leader who also doubled as the Chief Host, Com. Goke Akinwemimo appreciated all the key players, the two Council Bosses, Hon. Remi Abass, Hon. Opeyemi Adeboye, and Com. Badmus Opeyemi aka (BODI). The Youth Leader said their generous and kind contributions played key roles in recording success at the program. He also pledged to deliver the communique to highest authority of the Party for necessary action.


Some of people who participated in the symposium are Irewole LGEA Board Members, some Parliamentarians, representative of Hon. Maruf Larry Jay, ILERI OLUWA vendors, Ward Youths Leaders and Secretaries. Leaders of O'meals vendors, and some selected Party members.

The youth wing of Irewole local government Ikire under the leadership of comrade Adegoke Akinwemimo on Thursday, 12/11/2020 organized a symposium for some selected stakeholders and targeted youths in the local govt headquarter..


The mission for the symposium is to find lasting solutions to the problems affecting the party at the council and to proffer solution and boost Oyetola success for his second term re-Election..


It's was a successful deliberation for the party members, who without fair or favour expressed their feelings and registered their greviance which is affecting each wards in Irewole local govt and the LCDA


The  success of the symposium was  notable by the quality of leadership contribution of Irewole local govt Chairman and his LCDA counterpart, Hon Aderemi Abass and Hon Opeyemi Adeboye respectively. They both gave practical and theoretical response  to all the issues raised and enjoined members to have hope. They opined that our dreams and hope can only materialised if we work as a team for desire result.
