Normalcy restored in Osun as Military, Police and Vigilante beef up security.

Normalcy restored in Osun as Military,  Police and  Vigilante beef up security.*

Over the years,  Osun had been adjudged to be the most peaceful State in Nigeria.

And unfortunate enough, the present administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola has continued to maintain the record since assumption of office in the last six months.

However, it was quite unfortunate that recently, some unscrupulous elements tried to find their way to the state through their collaborators to lunch attacks on some innocent citizens along some highways.

There was a reported few cases of kidnapping, armed robbery and intimidation by these unwarranted elements suspected  to be armed herdsmen.

It would be recalled that the Oyetola's administration immediately swung into action, as he sermoned an emergency security meeting to arrest the ugly situation.

The administration has also, in the process of strengthening the security and ensuring that those criminals were smoked out of the state, liaise with all security agencies including the locals.

This informed the Joint stakeholders peace meetings held twice with a warning to all the traditional rulers, the heads and Landlords in various communities across the state to be vigilant and be mindful of visitors and strangers who might turn to criminals under the guise of engaging in mining activities.

However, despite all the decisive actions taken, it was discovered that, incidents of kidnapping, armed robbery and intimidation are still being perpetrated by some bad elements with a mission to cause insecurity as a way of making the state ungovernable for the Oyetola's administration.

In-depth review of the security situation revealed an exaggeration of few cases of insecurity recorded so far. Some unpatriotic third columnists also took the advantage to peddle rumours and blow falsehood out of proportion, causing fear and apprehension, over the situation.

The investigation carried out by the government, with the reports by the security agencies, shows that the security situation in the state of Osun is not that bad, as Government and security agencies are being proactive to ensure that, the situation does not escalate.

It is pertinent to note that the, security council meeting presided over by Governor Gboyega Oyetola came up with a strategic plan to set up a Joint patrol and Rapid response squad to control the menace.

The strategy plan was to have a combined team of the police, the military and paramilitary outfits, for 24 hours surveillance and patrol of all the dark spots in the state, in order to route out criminals from their hideouts.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola took the bull by the horns by stepping further to reach out to the headquarters of the Nigeria Army and the Nigeria Police at the federal capital territory Abuja, to get their full support for the joint security patrol teams, while they all assured of their support and commitment to the move.

The assurance, according to them, will allow the state of Osun to continue to maintain its status as safe and one of the most peaceful states in the country.

The administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola has always assured the people of Osun never to entertain fear, rather they should go about their normal and lawful duties without fear or apprehension, saying the security situation is under control and not in anyway threatened.

Efforts, they say, are good while results are better, the proactiveness of the state government of Osun has begun to yield positive results, just as security has now been beefed up across the state to checkmate any untoward activities capable of threatening the existing security and peace in the state.

The good news is that, the strategic plan has finally been launched to flush out evil perpetrators, as the joint security patrol teams of the police, the military and paramilitary outfits have commenced work, to get rid of all the criminals perpetrating evils in the state.

Because of the importance of the community efforts, government has also sought and engaged the services of the vigilante groups and local hunters to join the security achitecture, in order to guarantee security and peace in every nooks and crannies of the state of Osun.

It is a belief that, with the support and cooperation of all the citizens and residents of the state by assisting the security operatives in giving necessary information and to immediately report any suspicious movement or activity, the state of Osun will get rid of criminals and remain the safest state in Nigeria.

Insecurity: Osun To Engage Vigilante Groups, Hunter

Insecurity: Osun To Engage Vigilante Groups, Hunter

As parts of effort to tackle insecurity, the Osun State Government has said it will engage the services of vigilante groups and local hunters to complement the efforts of Nigerian Police to provide security for the residents.

Speaking on Saturday on the sidelines of the installation of the immediate past Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Dr Najeem Salaam, as the Oluomo of Ejigbo, the Deputy Governor of the state, Gboyega Alabi, said the state government would do everything legitimate to protect the people.

Alabi said the government had been engaging members of vigilante groups and local hunters in regular meetings before the recent rise in highway crimes in the state.

He warned against the use of social media to create panic, saying the security situation in the state was being hyped on the Internet.

“Not that the security situation in the state is that bad, but we are being proactive to ensure that it does not escalate beyond our capacity; that was why the governor went to the Chief of Army Staff,” Alabi said.

He gave an assurance that major stakeholders would be involved in an all-encompassing security strategy that the state government was planning to introduce to tackle crimes.

The lawmaker representing Osun West in the Senate, Senator Adelere Oriolowo, said local vigilante groups had been put on alert to provide security across the state.

He urged residents to be vigilant and keep close watch on movements around the state in order to prevent infiltration by bad elements.

Salaam, in his remarks, called for the cooperation of the residents to guarantee maximum security, adding that with good security, the state would experience more development.

Drama, As Adeleke Lawyer Admits Error In Their Papers Before The Supreme Court

Drama, As Adeleke Lawyer Admits Error In Their Papers Before The Supreme Court

Senator Ademola Adeleke this morning at the Supreme Court admitted unpardonable errors in his processes before the Apex Court.

His counsel, Dr Ikpeazu henceforth sort, through the back door, leave of the court to cure the incurable defects in their papers.

For this example, he admitted that the notice of appeal was not attached as Exhibit and apologised to the court for the failure but was asked to refer to the  Record.

Dr Ikpeazu, who had all these period since the Appeal Court judgement to file their papers and serve other parties, still came to court with application to amend 1st and 2nd  Respondents to read 1st and 2nd Appellants.

Such unpardonable error of not being able to distinguish between an elementary legal terms of a Respondent and an Appellant unarguably reflects the gross incompetence of the 'dancing Senator' who want to impose himself, through the back door on the over 4million highly sophisticated citizens of Osun State.

Not only that, the psychologically demented Senior Advocate for Adeleke still brought another motion to amend the name of the Counsel appearing under the signature.

It was also divinely dramatic when the court initially said they did not have copies of the counter affidavit until copies were later produced by the court Registry.

In all of these, the court was astonished when Adeleke's initially raised issue of motion as the presiding CJN asked what the motions were all about?

The established principle of Natural Justice that " who comes to equity must come in clean hand" came to play as the confidence exhuming lead counsel of Governor Oyetola and the ruling APC, Chief Wole Olanipekun adopted and relied on the counter affidavit and written address to dismiss the application.

He said the application was vague, no attachment, and the application was complicit, submitting that the prayer can not be granted.
